Chelsea Thompson
Founder & President
Chelsea Thompson is the founder of the Built Not Bought Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering teen girls, young women, and single mothers through confidence building, education, and leadership development.
The foundation was inspired by Chelsea’s personal journey navigating housing instability as a young mother when her daughter was just one year old. Experiencing firsthand the challenges of limited resources and support systems motivated her to create a platform that helps women gain the tools, knowledge, and mentorship needed to build independent and stable futures.
Chelsea is a creative entrepreneur, writer, filmmaker, and community advocate passionate about helping women recognize their worth and potential. Through the Built Not Bought Foundation, she is committed to creating programs focused on financial literacy, wellness, creative arts, mentorship, and housing support.
Her vision is to build a community where women are empowered to lead, grow, and succeed — proving that confidence, strength, and independence are built, not bought.
Damon Hughes
Treasurer
Damon Hughes serves as Treasurer of the Built Not Bought Foundation, helping guide the financial oversight and sustainability of the organization.
With a strong commitment to community empowerment and responsible financial stewardship, Damon supports the foundation’s mission by helping ensure transparency, accountability, and strategic growth as the organization expands its programs and initiatives.
As Treasurer, he assists in managing financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to support the foundation’s efforts to empower women and families through education, mentorship, and community programs.
Damon is passionate about contributing to initiatives that create lasting opportunities and strengthen communities.
Summer Williams
Board Member
Summer Williams serves on the Board of Directors of the Built Not Bought Foundation, supporting the organization’s mission to empower young women and single mothers through mentorship, education, and community engagement.
As a board member, Summer contributes insight, leadership, and support to help guide the foundation’s programs and initiatives, ensuring they create meaningful and lasting impact in the communities served.
Brittney Hicks

Brittney Hicks serves on the Board of Directors of the Built Not Bought Foundation, supporting the organization’s mission to empower young women and single mothers through mentorship, education, and community engagement.

Calunetta Epperson
Board Member & Regional Director – Tennessee
Calunetta Epperson serves on the Board of Directors of the Built Not Bought Foundation and leads the foundation’s regional outreach efforts in Tennessee.
In this role, Calunetta helps expand the organization’s mission by building community partnerships, supporting program development, and identifying opportunities to empower young women and single mothers through mentorship, education, and leadership initiatives.
As Regional Director, Calunetta works to bring the Built Not Bought Foundation’s vision of confidence, independence, and opportunity to communities beyond Houston.
Navista Bolton
Board Member & Regional Director – Alabama
Navista Bolton serves on the Board of Directors of the Built Not Bought Foundation and leads the foundation’s regional outreach efforts in Alabama.
In this role, Navista helps expand the organization’s mission by building community partnerships, supporting program development, and identifying opportunities to empower young women and single mothers through mentorship, education, and leadership initiatives.
As Regional Director, Navista works to bring the Built Not Bought Foundation’s vision of confidence, independence, and opportunity to communities beyond Houston.
